By Mike Scroggie, President, Austin Healey Club of SoCal

On March 11th and 12th, the Club returned to Dana Point for the 46th annual Festival of Whales. There, we had a two-day car show called the “British Invasion”. The JOC, along with the Austin Healey Club of SoCal, invited other British cars to attend, including MGs, Triumphs, Minis, Cobras and a Morris Minor. All tolled there were 30 cars (our limit) each day.

We were parked up on a grass strip, next to the public walkway in front of the harbor…and had great foot traffic and a lot of interest in our cars. The weather was pleasant, with a mixture of sunshine and fog. For those who stayed over Saturday night, we had an excellent dinner at the Dana West Yacht Club and a few of us went back there for Sunday lunch. In the afternoons, wine miraculously appeared around cocktail hour.
We are pleased to have attendees from the Inland Empire and San Diego areas join our display and to share our cars and stories with so many hundreds of visitor.

In attendance with Jags were Jacob Cherub, Mel Friedman, Marty Hovivian, Mark Mayuga, Jimmy Sorenson, Chris Allen, Jim and Betty Friel, Frank and Jean Gauer, Mike Zavos and Jenifer Hansen (IEJC),  Will Nighswonger, Udo Stoeckmann, Audrey and Dominic Volvano and Tim Tunnell.
