1995 Jaguar XJS 4.0 inline six convertible
1995 Jaguar XJS 4.0 inline six convertible. 242 original HP, automatic transmission. Rose Bronze metallic, one of the best and rarest XJS colors. Full restoration/repaint of the exterior and much of the interior in 2006 after a few areas began to fade and we scraped a quarter panel against a garage pillar. Currently has 77,519 miles.

Mechanically renewed between 2021-2023 after 7 or 8  years with limited use. Owned for 20 years, was a daily driver from 2004-2010 then retired and used sparingly for the past 14 years as a weekend/summer cruiser. Garaged or parked in an underground garage most of the past 20 years. 9.9 point plus car at JCNA driven events in 2023 and 2024 receiving best in class award. Regularly maintained at local specialists, full and extensive service history will convey to the next owner. We no longer have the space for this car due to other purchases in a 1 inch thick binder of receipts too extensive to publish here. It has been extremely reliable and even when it sits for 4-6 months unused, it always fires right up for that jaunt down the coast with the top down to enjoy the Southern California Sun. All lights, windows, radio, 6 disc changer, AC, heat, even the dash clock work as original. We will certainly miss this car but it is time that it go to someone who will use it more regularly. Just passed smog (easily) May 20 2024.
Replaced or restored items:
·      Exterior paint in 2006, in original color, re touched in 2024
·      New interior carpet set complete from World Upholstery 2005.
·      New Drivers seat leather from World Upholstery 2005
·      Original passenger seat dyed 2005
·      New headliner for convertible top 2006
·      New Falken Ziex tires late 2022
·      New trunk and hood struts 2022
·      New front brakes 2023 including calipers
·      New rear pads 2022

Items known to need attention:
·      Burgundy canvas top is original, but perfectly functional. IT would benefit from replacement at some point, it does occasionally rain a small amount of debris into the back of the car when used but does not leak and works just fine.
·      Door lock solenoids are weak and sometimes do not engage in cold weather. Remote works but does not always lock/unlock car when the locks are weak.
·      Only one key with original remote.
·      As with most Jags of this era, requires an occasional can of R134 to maintain coolness of AC.
·      Front lower valance cracked, as is common on the XJS, discretionary as to replacement.
·      Rear tops of back seats torn due to top movement, common on this XJS model as the tops get older. I would not repair until after the top is replaced.
·      Some front and rear suspension bushings are nearing replacement age as advised by my mechanic.
·      Slow leak in drivers side front wheel due to chrome leak, tire is new. Needs only a pound or two of air every week or two. Can likely refinish the wheel to eliminate this. My tire shop confirmed it is not related to the new tire.
·      Minor oil leaks, seepage etc, that are to be expected on any 30 year old Jag
